Not finishing or leaving tasks only causes worry, stress and panic as you know these tasks need to be completed and they play on your mind as unfinished work.
These are the Essential Time Management tips for College Students
Have an organizer.
This can be an electronic version or laptop or why not just use a pen and paper as it is quick and cheap, whichever method you use start writing down the tasks that need to be completed.
Use the A-B-C-D-E method to organize you list into priorities.
Once you have completed an item on your list, cross it off, this will not only keep you well organized but also make you feel great as you see your important tasks being completed one by one.
Set Long and short term goals.
Setting and writing goals down is the greatest way to ensure that you achieve your goals, your goals can range from making sure your course work is completed by a certain deadline to more challenging goals like increasing your grades by the end of term compared to the last term. Goals can be anything but make sure they are realistic otherwise you will be de-motivated when you struggle to achieve them.
Deal with the most challenging subject first
This may sound strange and you might think start on the easy subjects and then work on the hardest ones, but if you start and tackle the difficult subjects first you will feel more rewarded, confident and everything else will seem easy in comparison, leaving the hardest to last will only ensure the dark cloud hangs over you of that subject and it will play on your mind ensuring that you are even distracted from working on the easier subjects.
Reward yourself
Make sure you take time out to reward yourself and don’t feel guilty about it. If you have set yourself work goals and achieved them, then you deserve a break and a reward which will only build up your believe and confidence in your new found time management skills.
Using these simple steps will ensure that you are kept motivated, confident and happy in your work and you will see a new confident belief in your abilities which can only help you through the challenging time of college life.
